Web Development of Educational Courses Marketplace

The Client, an international education company, was looking to expand its offerings and reach new customers. The company had identified a need for a marketplace for educational courses for students, but they wanted to validate the idea before investing in a full-fledged development project.

To achieve this, the Client engaged ByteAnt to develop an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for the marketplace. The MVP would allow the Client to test the concept and gather feedback from potential users.

What we did

We developed the MVP of the marketplace using Umbraco CMS and our ByteArbor marketplace builder platform. This allowed us to quickly and easily create a functional and user-friendly website to verify product-market fit.

The marketplace includes a number of key features, including:

  • Education provider and student accounts: This allows users to create accounts for themselves or their organizations, and to manage their profiles and listings.
  • Search catalog with robust search function: This allows users to search for educational programs by keyword, location, date, and other criteria.
  • Reviews and testimonials: This allows users to share their feedback on educational courses, which helps other users make informed decisions.
  • Administrative functionality: This allows the Client to manage the marketplace, including adding and removing education programs, approving and rejecting reviews, and more.
  • Subscription and lead-based monetization.

The marketplace is designed to be user-friendly and good-looking. It is also mobile-friendly, so users can access it from their smartphones and tablets.

The Results

The MVP of the marketplace was launched within an efficient 10-week timeline. This was made possible by the use of our marketplace builder, efficient project management tools and processes, as well as regular communication between the Client and ByteAnt.

The project management process was facilitated through tools like Slack, Jira, and Confluence. These tools allowed the team to collaborate effectively and to track progress in real-time. Weekly sync-up meetings ensured that everyone was on the same page and that any potential roadblocks were identified and addressed early on.
